Wow look at all the music in this thread! I love it! I have been listening to these for the past month. Mandolin oranges cover of Bob Dylans classic is the most moving thing I have ever heard. It is the only thing can bring me to tears anymore! Hits way too close to home (headphones recommended to swim in the fiddle) . Followed by Townes Van Zandt's "I'll be here in the morning". @Matthew Hutchins My man! I've been playing about a year and few months now. I learned Blackbird last week ( I think all players get to that song at some point) haha! But I made a brave decision of learning Tommy Emmanuels version of Deep River Blues this month. Going to take a long time to master.

Hey Adam! My achievements the past 2 weeks is that I have learned two new pieces on the acoustic guitar. Read a lot of Sylvia Path and have written a few new starting stanzas! Hope your month gets better as we go into the new month. Also it is my birthday Sunday so a weekend with family to end off January♥️

Purple Ditch Flower To me she’d say, I’ll drive until the brakes wear and my sadness is pressed under my tongue, from the weight of the music I could tear but a place I stop, dressing my ear to feel young. I noticed they all grew around the mile so we drove and picked the unknown purple. She tried so hard to find a name that fit. She would symbol them nicely; my house she circles. Pretty, the way she magnifies colors as she leaves with black hair and a purple ear. To keep us forever well in our thoughts, will be the short moments under the blue. The time of bloom they’ll always reflect you. With the coming of winter, in my dreams I’ll carry them through. A trail forever walked to gather, my lovely purple ditch flower.

I feel you on this! Overthinking takes place a lot in my time writing. I even go to lengths where I don't even use the same word; cloud, sun, rain, moonlight, and so many more in the next 3 poems. Even the same verbs. It is very hard not using the same spice and creating new ones, but its definitely great practice I find. Finding different ways that crystal can shine. I think it is ok to have many poems over the same thing. We don't feel one emotion in one way. Explore each level of that emotion. It is kind of like when we keep our favorite poems to read in the future because it could hit you in another way on a different day. One emotion can have a lot to offer. Personally, not using the same words for 3-5 poems is key for me, but will still recycle down the line of a collection at some point!
