Hi Covers, veteran and new <3
(tw: I'm about to make reference to a disgraced artist allegedly guilty of s*xual ab*se)
I remember a Marilyn Manson song I use to listen to quite a bit (he's in the bad books now because of his alleged behaviour >:( so I apologise for referencing him here), but I just wanted to take a very brief moment to acknowledge a single line from his song 'Deep Six' which I found amazing (and makes me wish I penned the line myself):
You wanna know what Zeus said to Narcissus? You'd betta watch yourself.
Ugh, so good. Let's ignore the writer/singer, but when I first heard the line, it really moved me. It's got 'you don't know who you're dealing with. F*** you' vibes to it, and serves as a threatening reality check to whoever is planning to screw you over, but of course you will not let them get away with it.
Can anyone else recall a line from film/music/literature/video games/public speeches, etc. that is so great and poetic, that you wish you had thought of it yourself?
Honorable mentions to: I will remove the cause, but not the symptom from Rocky Horror.

I used to be a huge collector of quotes before I got into poetry! And of course when put on the spot I can’t immediately think of any specifically poetic.
A favourite of mine however is by Alan Watts on death: “All it really is, is everything becoming nothing. That’s not so scary now is it.”
Death being a big fear of mine, this always calms me down.
great question @Shen Friebe ... I've been thinking about this all morning, and have come to the conclusion that;
" I know I believe in nothing, but it is my nothing"
by the Manic Street Preachers in there song "Faster" fits he bill for me. Every time I hear it, I clench a fist and bite it in jealously of that line.
