Hi all (:
2023 has been a brutalist landscape for many, but 2024 is fast approaching! While I don't set New Year Resolutions persay, I do like to consider what the future has in store, and what I aspire to achieve in the coming months.
So what do you hope to achieve in 2024? Having a poem published? Or create a new poetry collection? A consistent writing routine? Finally creating - or expanding - a social media poetry presence? Maybe your goals are more focused around education - reading more often/widely, or joining the poetry academy?
I would love to hear your thoughts.

PS I'll post mine in the comments.
Tough questions. Goals, that is. I have several works-in-progress that I need to attend to. But...
Let's face it. Shiny new things look so desirable it makes it easy to abandon the children and make another baby. Seriously, I have three collections I plan to complete: - World in Crisis for April 2024 (Earth Day) - Trees for Sep 2024 (Canada National Forest Week) - Christmas Lights For Dec 2024 How many poems does a collection make? Well, that looks like a full year, and if one stays focused, doable. Happy New Year!
Definitely developing a realistic writing routine and dedicating time to learning and utilising different poetry techniques, so lots of practice! 🙂
For me, my main priority for the first part of the year is make sure I’m well and truly back into the routine of creating content for YouTube. I want to try and hit 10,000 subs by this time next year.
I also want to take our magazine to the next level.
Finally I want to start taking my poetry presence out into the real world.
Last two points are vague because I have a terrible habit of setting myself crazy goals that most people deem unattainable. Therefore if I’m vague I have more room to achieve something and be proud of it. That said, 10k subs by Dec. 2024 might be a bit steep, but I have the best supporters over there so I have faith in them!

My plans for 2024 include:
editing and publishing my current WiP collection
starting my second collection
establishing a healthy writing routine
to read more poetry
I also want to work on one of my novels, perhaps by joining a writing group.
