I'm not sure if this has already been done, I think it might have and I may be accidentally stealing this subconsciously. If you are the OP (Original Poster) of this please link your OP below and I will close this down.
Put two of your favourite lines of poetry together into one sentence.
For example: Shall I compare thee to a poet a thousand years hence.
I'm sure you can come up with some better combinations!
Love this Ken! You're a maestro hehehe!
I know this isn't following the prompt exactly verbatim, but I do a similar writing exercise where I splice song lyrics and meld them together. I put this one together based on the songs that were in my Daily Lift playlist on Spotify. I find the music and lyrics really helps motivate and inspire me to write poetry.
She drives a black camaro
and darkness comes at dawn.
She takes a ride on the radio dial
the devil’s water, it ain’t so sweet.
A pretty pink house up in the sky,
you know I’m paper-thin.
When the wheels come down,
fears we have got to let go,
and just forget the world.
I drew each line from a single lyric and then rearranged them together to make more sense. These are the songs that I utilized:
"Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars
"Like A Radio" by Keelan Donavan
"Me vs. The World" by All-American Rejects
"Elevator Boots" by Counting Crows
"The Way We Used to Be" by Journey
"Paper Thin" by Angels & Airwaves ft. Illenium and Tom DeLonge
"When You Were Young" by The Killers
"Wheels" by Foo Fighters
"Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol
