How do you format poems for submissions?

I've had so much trouble formatting my poems for submissions. I have way too many questions regarding the line spacing for my poems.

Am I supposed to hit 'enter' for every next line and double 'enter' between each stanza?

That was what I was doing before I read somewhere that between every line of the poem one was supposed to hit enter while holding the shift button to apply a line space and the usual double enter between each stanza.

I've been trying to jump between both but I'm finding it very confusing.

I'd be really glad if someone could help me. Thank you!!

It depends on where I’m posting. Usually, enter for new line and double enter for new stanza works (that’s what I do here). But some places put an extra space when you enter so you need to do the shift/enter thing. But honestly it really doesn’t matter much either way will work, don’t overthink it!
