Hey all! Everyone knows the saying, history repeats itself!
If you could repeat anything from the past within the Poetry world what would it be? If you could bring back a poet, a style, a phase ie the romantics, the metaphysics etc, maybe even a place that no longer exists… what would you like to see around in 2022 and,
most importantly, why?
Tanka phase.
That are handwritten of course.
Gifts that comes from souls are hard to
give nowadays.
Similar to @Shen Friebe and @Jay Ehros Rosing I'd go with the Romantics, too. I loved studying Romanticism at uni
18th Century Romanticism! Academic poetry, poetry about history, myths and legends, poems about religion (i.e. poems that contemplate moral and philosophical conundrums by using God and the Devil as motifs), maybe Victorian or Georgian styles of language and poetry. I'm a sucker for these epics times in our literary history. There is something beautiful, enchanting and nostalgic about poems like this that caught us off-guard and captivated us back in high school and/or university. In such a chaotic, contemporary age like ours where modern 'pop' poetry has kind of lost its spark, I think we need to go waaaaay back and revive what worked so well in the past. The bottom line is, one way or another, we need more *magic*!

How about you, Adam?
