Introduction
February may be the shortest month, but it’s filled with inspiration—winter’s quiet beauty, love’s intensity, and the promise of change. This month, we invite you to join us for 28 days of poetry prompts designed to ignite your creativity through a mix of video, audio, image, and text-based inspiration.
Each day, a new prompt will challenge you to explore emotions, memories, and imagination in unexpected ways. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just starting your journey, this challenge will help you expand your writing with fresh perspectives and sensory details.
I know, it's a little late... 25%. I'll get the first 7 up later today and go from there. You can reply to the daily prompt and post your poem.
Let February be the month where your words come alive!

"A love letter written in invisible ink..."
Describe a hidden message in a poem.
- a hidden message revealed through warmth or light, much like real invisible ink.
- The poem itself acts as the encoded message, with lines hinting at a lost love, a secret meeting, or an unspoken vow.
February 20 Prompt
Some of my favourite books from my childhood include 'From the Earth to the Moon' by Jules Verne and the 'Moon is a Harsh Mistress' by Robert Heinlein. Mankind has long written about Fascination with the moon.
Watch a timelapse of the moon moving across the night sky, into a full lunar eclipse.
Write about lunar secrets, or lunar muse, or lunarcy.

February 19 Prompt
Audio prompt:
The wind is not silent. It whispers, it wails, it calls. Whether it carries a message from the past, a warning of things to come, or the longing of something unseen, the howling wind stirs something deep within us.
For today’s prompt, write a poem about something calling out. This could be:
A lost soul trapped between worlds, its voice riding the wind.
A forgotten memory rustling through the branches, urging you to remember.
A lover’s voice carried by the storm, echoing a name only one person will hear.
The call of the wild, a primal force summoning someone away from civilization.
A prophecy or warning, the trees bending and creaking as they try to speak.
A ghost town's remains, the wind slipping through abandoned buildings, mimicking voices long gone.
A child lost in a storm, calling for help while the wind carries their voice away.

February 15 prompt...
A couple dancing in the snow. What emotions swirl around them?
Perhaps the morning after Valentine's Day or the beginning or the end?
Go forth and multiply your words.
I am busy again Herb but I am with you spirit. If don’t force things I may be able to come up with some verses
February 13 Prompt
Love remains... sometimes up in the air, and sometimes across the waters.
Today's prompt is an image of a man waiting on a cliff in a rainstorm, looking out to sea, longing for a loved one.
Today, write about someone waiting for a lover who may never return.
February 12 prompt:
Not all love stories end with
'happily ever after’...
Craft a poem about an unconventional romance.
Ah! The valentine card....
You are challenged with crafting a poem above love in another era.
We are uncertain of the origins of Valentine's Day, other than the Catholic church deigned Feb 14 as St. Valentine's Day, to honour one (or more) of a dozen saints and martyrs.
The honour might go to St. Valentine of Terni, jailed for performing marriages (banned by the Emperor). He penned a letter to his jailor's daughter who befriended him. He signed the letter Ex Valentini... From your Valentine.
Isn't that cute.
Go forth with love in your quill.
Last week, the power went out at 4:00 pm. With the sun's stead descent, I pondered where the heck we had stowed the candles. After the search, we lit one as the darkness began to gather its shroud. The one flame flickered in defiance, but I thought...
Gonna write tonight while it's actually raining out my window. Super ready
February 09 Prompt
"The Sound of Footsteps on Wet Pavement“
Footsteps on wet pavement evoke a cinematic quality—echoing in an empty street, vanishing into the night, or hesitating at the edge of a decision. The rhythmic tapping can symbolize departure, pursuit, longing, or resolution.
This prompt invites you to explore movement and direction in poetry.
Who is walking? A lost lover? A stranger? Someone running from their past?
Where are they going? Toward something hopeful, or away from something painful?
What does the wet pavement signify? A fresh start, a recent storm, or a night that refuses to end?
Focus on Emotion & Mood
Loneliness, Regret, Mystery, Determination, Joy.
