DAY 4:
"The Object Whisperer"
Choose a nearby object and imagine it has a secret. Write a poem revealing that secret from the object’s point of view.
C.L.A.S
Turbulence
Tilted, tired
resting on a raw
throne
cut from wood
shadowed by richly stained
plank, hanging_floating
platforming a substantially
grown ZZ plant
mother gave you,
she couldn’t take care
microbes and growing roots
as well as you
I came to you happily
surprised
electric light blue, with a fitted basket
white mini plastic flowers holding me down
young child nearly 4 years old
contemplating worlds of splendour
picked me out of a bunch, at Michael’s
given shortly after Christmas
your face gleed
exhilarating amusement
I resembled one you used to adore.
Had to get rid
when you were
shutting doors
off to a new Exotic land
adventure waiting for your open hands.
I’m tiny and cute
shimmering days of wander
through polluted city streets
going around alleys to markets
collecting apples and berries, freshly
picked
farmers produce.
I sit and wait,
knowing your wish will be granted soon.
