If we actually knew the extent to the darkness of what each of us have experienced, we would all treat eachother with complete honour and respect, out of our utter surprise, compassion and pride.

You know, we would live in an absolute paradise! Sadly, I only see things getting worse, Jest. Most too invested in phone screens to realise what's going on in who around them. And this was pre-covid! I wrote a poem during the first morning of our first uk official lockdown. I remember distinctly feeling so full of optimism for society when I saw on the news what people were doing, clapping for health carers etc. I thought we'd pull through together and grow as a society. Unfortunately that all turned out to be a charade and lasted little over a month... maybe 5 weeks. Then people realised this wasn't just a "blip" and that we were in it for the long hall. Over the next few next days we learned how everyone had hoarded toilet paper, bought up all the pasta and bread, and ignored social distancing altogether; basically there was an overriding sense of "every man for himself" which just shit on my hopeful poem haha.
