Today I'm going to drive a bit out of town and walk a trail I've not walked in a long while. The weather has been really great here the last few days so it has put me in an exploration mood! I really hope to sit down and work on some new poems too! How about you?

I am, but most writers tend to be. :) Comes with being an indy author.
It took me several months to get up the nerve to read my work in front of others. I had done prose readings for years, but I was a new poet and unsure of myself. Once I took the plunge I only read at one or two local venues where I knew everyone. Now I Zoom all over the USA to readings and read my stories and poetry at major conventions. Everything comes with practice.
Weather is looking a bit gloomy today here in California. But it is cool and not raining. I may still attempt a walk this afternoon, dog or no dog. :)
Well, I didn't go for the walk. I need to get on that more for my health. Otherwise, things went well. The poetry reading was for a group of Cornell students who had published a small poetry chapbook together and were holding a reading to showcase it. They were all rather shy...for being doctorate students! LOL I think they show promise, although I suspect poetry will always be a hobby for them...and that is perfectly fine. It was good to see the arts being supported for students in the science track.
I am doing blog and SM work this morning. I am formatting interviews, articles, and photos for my blog and setting up their counterparts on twitter, FB, IG. I hope to get out for a walk this afternoon. The weather is sunny and turning a bit warm (by California standards). Normally I go with the hubby and dog, but this time I will be on my own with music. In the early evening I will participate in an open-mic at Cornell University via Zoom with the topic of poetry during the time of Covid. I'm not the feature, basically showing up to be supportive of the venue. :)
Wow, I am jealous of you Adam! It's so hot here, that even the thought of going out burns to crisp before it can come to life. I will write poems, of course, because that is my favourite part of the day.
Ugh. I wish I could get out and go for a walk. But I'm working today and then I have a workshop later tonight. And I'll be writing today's poem at some point, of course.
