Sometimes when writing, I will try to brainstorm the different words we use to discribe colors. Sometimes there are names, sometimes the names really come from common objects. It's a fun exercise that help me to build my descriptive vocabulary. Let's see, with yellow: Saffron, Lemon, Amber, Honey, Flax, Cream, Ochre, Mustard.....I'm sure there are tons of other names.
When I started to inquire about how to get some of my artwork printed, I learned that there Hex codes which give us numbers for the different colors. There appear to be definitive parameters for each with an assigned number. It seems so formal and fixed. Still it seems like quite a science and I would love to learn more about it.
