Me and My Muse Dream

I had the strangest dream. This is what I remember... sort of.

Me and the Muse Dream

I ponder the blank page

"after a bottle and a half of wine.

yeah, I'm sleepy."

That's an understatement.  

But, I've got a nice glow on right now.

My Muse drifts through the door

like the rose,  "mmmmmmmmmmm"

I'm in the cuddly stage.

"Let's just sit and converse"

 "You thought of me?" She asks.

"Oh yes!   You were always near the front."

"Can i tell you something?" I ask

and continue without waiting

"when I deleted my poems,

I was going to quit writing. 

You were the last tipping point."

I choke back the memory

bringing salt stinging my eyes.

"When I thought you were lost, 

I cried knowing your many qualities."

The Muse chortled "both good and bad?"

"Yes."  agree "we all have good and bad. 

wait till you see my bad. lol"

"How are you?" she asks, caressing

my hairless head.  

"We can see each other

in our dreams. Go now. 

i could look at you all night

and not tire of the sight."

She snorts "Oofffff." like a joke

when soda pop spews

from your nose. 

"I would like to wake

in the morning and

you be the first thing i see.

But i'll be REM-ing all night,

nothing deep."

The Muse tells me "Go sleep love.

We sleep together." 

I close my eyes. She whispers,

"You need to write more,

your head is fucked."
