Welcome home!
At The Poetry Cove Forum, we are dedicated to bringing together poets from all over the world. We believe that poetry can be a powerful tool for connection and community, and we want you to have a place where you can explore your craft in an environment that is friendly, welcoming, and supportive.
We are committed to providing this space for you because we believe that everyone deserves a chance to express themselves creatively and share their work with others who share their interests.
We hope you will join us in creating an open-minded, accepting, and supportive community of people who can help each other grow as poets.
Welcome back, Shen! I haven't really been on IG much, but I did follow some of your photographic journey through NZ, and those landscapes got me going:
But to answer your question, I haven't been up to much. As I say all the time despite actually doing a lot even though I don't think it is a lot... I digress.
I started watching the new show Devil in Ohio on Netflix, so far so good. Kind of reminds me of Sharp Objects a little bit, but with more cult-related content.
I also started my new semester of university, but unlike other semesters this one is dedicated to my specialization in poetry, so I only have the one course which has given me a lot of downtime to do less stuff.
I watched some comedy films with @Adam as he was feeling a bit low like he mentioned, and we had a great time doing that over Zoom. We watched the first Bill & Ted and also Son In Law, both of which he hadn't seen before, and before those we had watched Dodgeball.
I have been putting together a new website/blog for myself called The Bare Bone Reader, to go along with my adopted name on IG, but I haven't finished it to my liking quite yet, so it isn't up and running/.published to the web yet. Getting there though.
I also went to a farm/playground for kids called Pumpkin Valley Farm with my son and mum yesterday. That was a load of fun. It was mostly for my little man though. There was a sunflower garden there, a slide, a rubber duck racing game, goat/donkey petting pens, a corn maze, brick oven pizza shop, popcorn/cotton candy stand, a giant bouncing pillow, and some live country music.
Been writing poetry on and off as it comes to me... other than that, not a whole lot happening. Been considering downshifting my use of IG for over a week now. Need to start thinking about submitting my work to lit journals and stuff more often, and really figure out where I want to go, instead of giving away everything for free and being consumed by socials. Honestly, this is the most lax I've felt in quite some time. Less stress too!
Need to throw together the ebook/PDF for my debut poetry collection, but just haven't seemed to focus on it lately. Probably will tackle it once the blog is done.
Welcome back Shen, really seeing your name pop up again. Much has changed in the world since your departure.
I finally penned a new poem, a Villanelle which is completely unrelated to the Queen. I’m sure Armitage will have something as Laureate!
@Ken LeMarchand has been awesome getting my head away from things and hosting movie nights to keep me smiling.
How was your trip!?
