Welcome home!
At The Poetry Cove Forum, we are dedicated to bringing together poets from all over the world. We believe that poetry can be a powerful tool for connection and community, and we want you to have a place where you can explore your craft in an environment that is friendly, welcoming, and supportive.
We are committed to providing this space for you because we believe that everyone deserves a chance to express themselves creatively and share their work with others who share their interests.
We hope you will join us in creating an open-minded, accepting, and supportive community of people who can help each other grow as poets.
I try to keep order about, but when I am in the middle of a creative project, things can get cluttered. I always declutter as needed....it's part of the fun. : )
Yes, it actually does help me to get work done. It enhances my enjoyment of the things I love to do (talk with students and write) and it takes the edge of non-preferred tasks like analysing data and working with spreadsheets. : )
My desk is a source of inspiration. My wall space, holds artwork, photos, postcards. The desk is a huge dining room table (purchased to be a desk), and I have my art and writing supplies close at hand. When I return to the office, I will say that the space I have created is my favorite, best thing. Again photos, artwork, pens of all colors, I have crystals in the window, windchimes, and then there is that garden outside my window (with plants that I planted from seed). I love that space. On a practical level, I love my computer with two giant screens. I miss that as I am working on a small laptop at home. I was so spoiled. LOL
My noise cancelling headphones basically never leave my head When I’m working.
as far as less tangible tools go…VLOOKUPS. If you have an office job the uses Excel a lot, VLOOKUPS are game changing. Look up a YouTube tutorial to see how you can use them to make your life easier
Hey everyone, good question, Bendy. I'm pretty grateful for the friendships and bonds I have with my co-workers. They're a lovely and fun bunch of people to work with everyday, and when we're not flat-out with work, we're sending each other memes and laughing about bizarre queries we receive from shareholders (keep in mind, not everyone who contacts us is, um, sober.) I really miss seeing them in person, since we've all been working from home for almost two years now. But we have seen each other at EOFY get togethers and Xmas parties during the last two years, which has been great.
So my answer to you is, the Power of the Meme. I've often found that during extremely stressful times and when everyone is feeling really defeated and deflated, memes really hold us together and lighten the mood in our team. Of course, almost all of the memes we share is about our line of work specifically, so they're even funnier because they're relatable. We also create our own memes and send them out in an email at the end of Fridays, which we call 'Fri-yay Memes' and even our boss has gotten onboard with it, haha. I guess this is a very modern solution to an eternal problem.
I don't work in an office but when I'm in a classroom probably my favorite tools are bags of sweets to bribe kids not to give me problems or my dark sense of humour to keep adults entertained
When I do online clases my favorite tool is definetly my Webcam.
In one to one clases definetly it's all about patience
Nothing beats a sword better than the almighty pen!
Though if I'm to be a tad humorous, I think a stapler is a staple in anyone's office work.
