Contactless payments have been around for awhile now. Through bank cards and mobiles and probably other means I can't think of. Living in the time we're in, it has become pretty integral to stopping spread. What are your thoughts however on a cashless world with everything going through the internet post covid?
For me I think it is dangerous. No more "Cash in hand" jobs. Every single penny or dime is traceable.
Things that arent mutually exclusive:
Jam & Peanut Butter
Socks & Sandals
Digital Currencies & Pandemics
No, I think it's far more vulnerable. Also, what will happen to daily wage workers?
Being a citizen of developing nation, it was really difficult for us when demonetization(higher value currency were declared redundant), it really affected us all. People who have small businesses will also be hit because their will always be a transaction fee. We should have cash for sure, but maybe make the currency on some artificial materials so that our trees can also be saved.
I hope there is always some cash being used. I like to give cash to buskers whose music I enjoy. I often drop coins into charity collection boxes. Not all people who have a stall at a market or who hold a garage sale have a way of accepting card payments. What about the person who has a couple of items to sell when they are moving house? I think people who are struggling financially would suffer most in a cashless society. How are parents supposed to give their children pocket money. An online transfer into their bank account wouldn't be the same as receiving cash.
In short, I'm not for that at all. It's far too dangerous.
